A food needing no introduction but its name ‘Biriyani’. Even just saying the name makes you crave it (as it is doing to me right now). Although this royal dish is made in different ways in different regions there is one thing nobody misses, the spice.

A delicacy so rich in flavor that anybody eating it just falls in love with it. But no matter how flavourful and tasty it is if it’s not burning you from the inside, is it even Biriyani? If it’s not tickling your tongue or making you grab any beverage in your way, is it?

Base Spices of the dish

  • Red pepper
  • Balck pepper
  • Garam Masala
  • Coriander
  • Cardamom
  • Cloves
  • Bay leaves
  • Mint leaves
  • Tumeric

Although many other elements are added aside from these base ones, Red pepper is the king spice of the dish along with red chilis and green chilis. To kick in the spice.

Even if one is a team-less spice but when it comes to biriyani majority of times it’s spicy all the way. Turns out 7 out of every 10 people want a stomach-burning Biriyani.

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

But at the end of the day, Biriyani is Biriyani. Even if it lacks spiciness it’s a food which is preferred over anything. And I’m not talking about just Brown people.

P.S

During this tiny piece, I was drooling. And now I’m gonna order some biriyani for myself. You do too. And try to get one with potatoes. They are absolute love.
